The Civic is the most-modified and most-abused sedan on Pakistani roads. What breaks on the 10th and 11th generation, how to spot a raced or accident car, and the inspection checks that matter.
The Honda Civic is Pakistan's favourite sedan for young buyers — which is exactly why the used market is full of examples that have been raced, modified, crashed and quietly restored. Here is how to buy a good one.
Which generation are you looking at?
- Civic X (2016–2021) — 1.8 i-VTEC (Oriel) and 1.5 turbo (RS). CVT gearbox on both.
- 11th generation (2022 onwards) — same engines, new body, more driver aids.
Known issues to check
1.5 Turbo (RS)
- Oil dilution — fuel in the oil on short trips; check the dipstick smell and level above max.
- Turbo whine or smoke on cold start.
- Many RS models were tuned or track-driven — look for aftermarket intake, exhaust or ECU remap stickers.
1.8 Oriel
- CVT judder or delay engaging Drive when cold.
- Rear suspension bushes and noisy sway-bar links on rough roads.
- AC compressor clutch noise.
Both generations
- Sunroof drains blocked → wet headliner and roof-lining stains.
- Infotainment screen freezing / touch dead zones.
- Low front bumper lip: cracks and repainting after speed-breakers are almost universal — check whether the bumper brackets are intact.

Signs of a raced or accident car
- Non-matching or sticky tyres, worn on the inside edge.
- Repainted front fenders plus a replaced bumper on the same corner.
- Airbag warning light missing from the start-up self-test.
- Aftermarket coilovers or lowered stance.
- Fresh underbody paint — used to hide repaired rails.
What our Civic inspection focuses on
Beyond the standard 203+ points, Toyota Walton Motors inspectors pay extra attention to turbo condition and oil dilution, CVT behaviour on a 15-minute road test, sunroof drains, front-end structure and modification history. Everything goes into the Detailed report with photos.
Price guidance
A well-kept Oriel with an Excellent score commands a premium; an RS with a tuned ECU or any frame finding should be priced well below the market average — or avoided. Use the report score as your negotiation anchor.
