What does 86.5% mean? What is P1, B2 or X3? A plain-language guide to every part of the Toyota Walton Motors inspection report so you can judge a car in two minutes.
Our inspection report is designed to be read by a buyer in two minutes and by a mechanic in ten. This guide explains every part of it.
1. The overall score
The big percentage on page one combines four categories — Exterior, Interior, Engine & Systems and Frame — following the Toyota working-sheet logic. As a rule of thumb: 90%+ Excellent, 75–90% Good, 60–75% Fair, below 60% Poor. The label next to the ring says the same in words.
2. Category bars
Each bar shows a category on its own, because an Excellent engine with a Poor frame is a very different car from the reverse. Frame is the one to read first.
3. P / B / X marks and levels
- P — Paint / surface: scratches, stone chips, faded clear coat. P1 is a light scratch, P3 needs a full panel repaint.
- B — Body / dent: the panel shape has changed. B1 is a small dent, B3 a large deformation.
- X — Cut, crack, hole or missing part: usually needs replacement.
- RP — Repainted and RL — Replaced record history rather than damage: the panel is not original.
- N/A: the car does not have that item (sunroof, third-row seats, hybrid system…).
4. The damage map

The exploded-view car drawing shows every panel with a coloured dot: green original, yellow paint, red dent / body, black cut, blue repainted, purple replaced. It is the fastest way to see whether damage is spread over the car (many small parking marks) or concentrated on one corner (a collision).
5. Key findings and officer remarks
The findings table lists only the faults, worst first. The officer's remarks explain anything unusual and end with a recommendation: Good to buy, Negotiate / caution or Not recommended.
6. Photographs
The detailed report ends with dated, watermarked photos of every side, the odometer, VIN plate, tyres and every fault. Originals are kept on our server for audit.
7. QR verification
Scan the QR code or type the inspection number at https://inspection.toyotawalton.com/verify. The online page shows the report's version, status and score — if a report has been revoked or edited, it will say so. A screenshot of a report can be faked; the QR page cannot.
Online report toggles
On the online report you can switch on View Faults Only to hide every OK checkpoint, or turn off Show Minor Scratches / Dents to see only the findings that affect price.
