Buying a used car in Lahore? Here is exactly what a professional pre-purchase inspection checks, how long it takes, what it costs and how to read the report before you pay.
Every week hundreds of used cars change hands in Lahore — and a large number of buyers discover an accident repair, a tampered odometer or an engine problem only after the money has been paid. A pre-purchase car inspection is the cheapest insurance you can buy: for less than the price of one tyre you get a trained inspector, a 203+ point digital checklist and a QR-verified report that tells you exactly what you are buying.
What does a professional inspection check?
At Toyota Walton Motors — an authorised Toyota dealership in Lahore — the inspection follows the Toyota TSURE working sheet used for certified used cars. It covers ten areas:
- Documents — registration book / smart card, VIN plate, engine number match, token tax, ownership count.
- Exterior & body — every panel is marked P (paint), B (dent / body), X (cut, crack or missing), Repainted or Replaced with a level from 1 (minor) to 3 (major).
- Interior — seats, dashboard, roof lining, electronics, AC, cameras and sensors.
- Engine & systems — oil and coolant leaks, smoke, noise, mounts, belts, battery, wiring, hybrid system checks for HEV cars.
- Brakes, suspension & steering — pads, discs, shocks, bushes, play and noise.
- Frame / accident — core support, chassis rails, pillars, floor and trunk floor: this is where accident repairs hide.
- Road test — acceleration, gear shifting, pulling, vibration, braking and ABS.
- Tyres & diagnostics — tread depth, battery health, OBD codes where available.
How long does it take and where?
A standard inspection takes about 75 minutes. You can bring the car to Toyota Walton Motors on Main Walton Road, or our inspector can come to your home, office or the seller's location anywhere in Lahore. Photos are taken of every side of the car, the odometer, the VIN plate and every fault.
What does it cost?
The standard 203+ point inspection starts at Rs. 2,999. SUV / pickup and hybrid inspections cost slightly more because of the extra drivetrain and high-voltage checks. Compare that with the Rs. 150,000–400,000 a hidden accident repair or engine overhaul can cost and the maths is easy. See the full pricing and booking page.
What you get afterwards

Within minutes of the inspection you receive a Summary report (one page — score, category percentages, key findings and damage map) and a Detailed report (every checkpoint with photos) on WhatsApp and email. Each report carries a unique inspection number and QR code — anyone can verify it online at https://inspection.toyotawalton.com/verify, so a seller cannot forge it.
How to read the score
The overall percentage combines exterior, interior, engine and frame results. Above 90% is Excellent — a car with only cosmetic marks. 75–90% is Good — typical for a well-used car with minor repairs needed. Below 60% usually means major work or accident damage: negotiate hard or walk away. The report also shows the legacy Toyota level (Level 1–5) used by dealerships.
Tips before you book
- Inspect before paying any token money.
- Ask the seller to keep the car cold — cold-start smoke and noise tell a lot.
- Bring the registration book so the chassis and engine numbers can be matched.
- Read the Frame section first: a repaired core support or replaced pillar changes the price far more than a scratch.
